A journal does not need to become an administrative burden. Three deliberate screenshots can capture the essential arc of a chart decision.

Context

The first image shows the anchor and setup timeframes before action. Keep enough history visible to identify swing structure and location. Add one sentence naming the regime and boundary.

Decision

The second image captures the moment of entry or the decision to stand aside. Mark the evidence you required, the invalidation point and anything that remained unresolved.

Aftermath

The final image is taken at a predetermined review point, not only when the outcome feels interesting. Note whether the original reasoning remained valid and where management followed or departed from the plan.

Tag process errors separately from losing outcomes. A valid decision can lose; an undisciplined decision can profit. The journal should keep those facts from becoming confused.
